Thanks for your comment. I am saying that God knows what we will do before we do it not because our lives are fully predestined, but that God knows our future because he sits outside of time.

Thanks for the comment. I did say putting aside whether hell is real or not. There is the point that belief should affect your actions.

I would never use hell as a means of fearing people to follow as ultimately your following or deciding to follow under duress.

As far as burden of proof there is none I can show you, there is no evidence beyond peoples own experience, which can be dismissed as there is no way to proove it externally. faith is the evidence of things unseen as the Bible says. But my faith is real to me.

Thanks for commenting i appreciate it. Its good to hear from people with a different view and be able to share without the arguements and back and forth.

Thanks

"If you had a friend who sincerely believed you were in real danger and didn’t warn you, would you regard them as a real friend if they did nothing?" >>> The issue is lost in translation. For the atheist, the concept of hell has the same amount of threat as the concept of the air around us. The sincere christian's warnings are considered to have the same weight. Until the threat of hell can be demonstrated to be true with evidence, it has no teeth, they are just assertions. The christian is more emotionally concerned (from fear) by the threat of hell than actually (rationally) proving that hell exists in the first place. They presume their position, then jump past the burden of proof and deliver the assertion of hell as their talking point. Once you backup and provide the evidence, only then will the atheist take the christian seriously. Good question.
